Winner of a free Safety Devices Explorer roof rack announced! Back to results

Congratulations to Thomas O'Neill, the winner of a free Safety Devices 'Explorer' roof rack for the Land Rover Defender!  Thomas visited the Safety Devices stand at last weekend's Land Rover Owner Billing Show and entered our free competition in which the closest guess at the number of sweets in a jar would win an Explorer roof rack of their choice (and the jar of sweets).  Thomas guessed 740 sweets, which was the closest guess to the right answer of 743.  Entries ranged from 236 to 6750, including one interesting guess of 5999.32!

Thanks to everyone who entered the competition and visited our stand.

On Friday we displayed an Explorer roof rack with long luggage rail mounted to the rain gutter of the Safety Devices' Land Rover Defender 110 Station Wagon.  On Saturday our Expedition Design Engineer, Chris Platt, and our Belgian Dealer, Frank Beuckelaere, removed the roof rack from the Defender and installed the RBL172 7SSS roll cage.  Then by simply changing the brackets on the roof rack, Chris and Frank attached the roof rack to the roll cage.

Visitors to Billing on Saturday were invited to Safety Devices' 40th Anniversary 'happy hour', during which we treated guests to free beer, sparkling wine and, of course, Land Rover shaped chocolate cake!  Managing Director, Gavin Davidson, gave the crowd a brief summary of Sarety Devices' history, including its beginnings with Aley Bars (bought by Safety Devices), through to the company's appointment as the official supplier of the original Camel Trophy roll cages and roof racks, up to today, as still the major supplier of roll over protection to both Land Rover and The British Army.  The Army were kind enough to allow us to display a Wolf on our stand at Billing.
