Safety Devices Military projects have included the British Army Land Rover Wolf ROPS, sideways mounted seating, custom made harnesses, ROPS for the British Army CVR(T), seating ROPS, and ROPS for Pinzgauer vehicles.  Safety Devices are also specialists in conceptual designs, for example design solutions for retrofit ROPS and weapons mountings on conventional 4x4 fleets.

In addition, Safety Devices' latest development is unlike anything you've seen before.  The Autonomous Load Carrier (ALC) is a completely new British innovation designed to traverse any terrain that a soldier can traverse, at the soldier’s pace, whilst transporting loads of up to 350kgs. It is an electronic 6 wheeled flexible chassis vehicle (a hybrid diesel version is also available), able to cope with 60 degrees in any direction, undulation, stairs, rocks, and hills, both up and down.  It is built to be robust in use and, with many conventional elements, its components are tried and tested commercial off-the-shelf parts (COTS).

Visit Safety Devices at DSEI, Stand N9-181 in the Land Zone, North Hall.  We will be displaying our sideways mounted seating and seating ROPS and welcome the opportunity to discuss current and future projects.

Safety Devices has been designing and manufacturing Roll Over Protection Structures (ROPS) for the military since it built the first protective structures for the British and New Zealand Armies in 1980.  Our ROPS are designed to protect the lives of vehicle inhabitants in the event of a roll over incident and we are often asked for guidance and advice.  The Safety Devices design team are experienced in creating new design solutions and prototypes for existing military vehicles in use both for the military sector and also for providers to the military.
