Gaz Shocks BMW Compact Cup, Donington Back to results

The second year of the Gaz Shocks BMW Compact Cup, sponsored by MAHA, co-sponsored by Safety Devices and starring eBay Motors BTCC team driver, Tom Onslow-Cole, was played out at the Donington Park Circuit on 1 September 2012.

It was Tom's first time competing in the Cup, up against some of the UK’s best club racing drivers as well as upcoming star of TVRs Danny Winstanley and the ever quick Rob Boston usually found competing in the Lotus Elise Trophy.  Tom qualified in eighth position, and finished in 4th and 3rd places, proving just how hot the competition was.

Race 1 was won by Rob Boston, Race 2 was won by Stephen Roberts.

The BMW 3 Series E36 Compact that Tom competed in during the Compact Cup features the Safety Devices 'B034' multi-point bolt-in roll cage, which is now the spec cage for the Series and is available exclusively from PDL Motorsport.

Tom also wore a 6 point Safety Devices FIA approved, Hans compatible harness.
