Q. What type of padding should I use for racing?

In high impact areas around the head “FIA roll cage padding” is mandatory.  “Door-bar padding” is also available and can be used on the door bars although this is not mandatory.

Q. Is impact padding allowed for use in racing?

Yes in fact it is required for all FIA events on all roll cage components within range to contact the helmet. It is also strongly recommended for MSA events.

Q. Is the padding fire retardant?

Yes it is manufactured to a special formula approved by the FIA.

Q. Can I use pipe lagging instead?

Er, no, it is specially designed for insulating pipes not saving lives.

Q. How is padding sold?

Through our dealer network or through our Ebay shop in various lengths.

Q. How do I fix padding to the cage?

The padding will clip onto the roll bars which should then be held in place with adhesive and cable ties.  Download our fitting instructions: here.

Q. What padding do you recommend for my 4x4?

“Safety Devices roll cage padding”, is for situations where there is likely to be light impact.  It is not suitable for high impact situations in motorsport.  It comes in black or grey and fits a number of different tube sizes.
