2013 Michelin Renault Clio Cup Series nominates Safety Devices as manufacturer of Road Conversion category cage Back to results

The 2013 Michelin Renault Clio Cup Series has nominated the newly designed Renault Clio Mk3 roll cage 'R019' from Safety Devices as the sole mandatory cage in the Road Conversion category of the series.

The Road Conversion category is an idea from the British Automobile Racing Club to create a new low-cost way for owners of Clio RS 197 and 200 road cars to convert these to race cars using a defined kit of parts. Regulations are tight to maintain a level playing field.  The Safety Devices R019 14 point bolt-in roll cage will make up part of this kit.

The first two rounds of the series took place at Snetterton on the weekend of the 11/12th May 2013. The weekend produced some great racing with three cars out in the Road Converted categories and the R019 roll cage in each.  Rounds 3 and 4 took place at Croft on 6th/7th July 2013.  More cars are being built to run in the series which has four more rounds scheduled to take place at Rockingham and Brands Hatch.
