At Safety Devices, our primary objective is your safety. This is why we produce a range of impact padding to further minimize the risk of injury in case of a serious accident. In the event of an impact, the padding efficiently absorbs the kinetic energy.
We offer a wide range of fire resistant impact padding for competitors across the Motorsport spectrum, from Clubman to FIA International events. All our padding is designed to easily attach to the roll cage structure for maximum usability and safety.
Safety Devices hold stocks of padding to meet all the above requirements. For further information on each type please see below:
Door bar padding
Manufactured from fire resistant high-density polyurethane material, this cost-effective, highly durable padding is ideal for Clubman use and comes with embossed Safety Devices logo.
Moulded to fit 38-50mm diameter tube, it is 9mm thick and comes in 930mm black lengths divided into four sections for easy cutting to size. 580g per full length. Attachment to the roll cage structure can be with either adhesive or tiewraps as appropriate.
Safety Devices were the pioneering European manufacturers of mandatory homologated padding to be approved by the FIA, and is still one of the few worldwide to offer this product.
Safety Devices homologated padding is manufactured in black 'half round' sections of length 600mm and designed to attach to tube sizes 32mm, 38mm, 45mm and 50mm using double-sided adhesive tape. 550g per full length.
The padding can be cut to a required length and formed around large radius bends by warming to a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees C, yet it is imperative that the domed face is left untouched and the homologation number ‘CP.002.02 A’ remains visible and intact.
Manufactured from fire resistant high-density polyurethane material, this cost-effective, durable padding is ideal for clubman use. This padding is produced from an Integral Skinning, close cell polyurethane. Polyurethane is produced from a mix of isocyanite and polyol which is completely stable when removed from its mould.
Moulded to fit 38-50mm diameter tube, it is 16mm thick and softer than the door bar padding. Comes in 1000mm black or grey lengths, easy to cut to size. 850g per full length. Attachment to the roll cage structure should be with an adhesive such as Sikaflex.
Confor Foam is an impact cushioning, ergonomic, urethane foam that provides a high level of energy absorption that can be used as roll cage padding or in flat panels to cushion door, fascia and transmission areas.
The foam comes in sheets of size 91.4cm (36") x 203.2cm (80") and the thickness is variable dependent on individual requirements. We cannot alter the length or the width of the sheet as it is cut from a large block as required. Common sizes are 1", 2" or 3" thick although we can do sizes in-between. Lead times are normally within 1-2 weeks of order placement.
